Libya Film Institute presents a Screenwriting Workshop for Beginners as part of the Khotwa 2025 Project, taking you on a journey to explore the basics of screenwriting and visual storytelling. The workshop will cover story structure, character development, writing scenes and dialogue, and understanding the social impact of film.

Story Building: Learn how to create a strong story, understand elements like plot and conflict, and explore how the climax and ending shape a screenplay.
Character Development: Discover how to build main and supporting characters connected to the story and its social themes, understanding their inner and outer conflicts.
Practical Writing: Turn your idea into a short film scene. Learn how to describe visuals, dialogue, and movement clearly and effectively.
The Social Impact of Film: Explore how stories and films can be used as tools for expression and creating positive change in society.
The workshop combines online lectures, practical assignments, and group discussions to offer a complete hands-on learning experience.
? Practical Opportunity:
Participants will be asked to produce at least one scene from their screenplay. Selected filmmakers may also have the chance to continue developing their projects with the Libya Film Institute’s development team and access future grants and learning opportunities.
