Biography:

Muhannad Lamin is a director and producer who graduated from Art Institute in Tripoli with a directing and screenwriting degree. He collaborated in producing several public-awareness campaign projects in Libya. In addition to working on several documentary projects such as Freedom fields (2018) and after a revolution (2021).

Lamin directed four short films that have been screened at international festivals, one of which is the short narrative film “The Prisoner and the Jailer” in cooperation with a Tunisian production company to be a joint production between Libya and Tunisia.

In the last decade, the Prisoner and the Jailer short film is considered to be the first Libyan participation in the official competition of the International Carthage Film Festival and the first Libyan participation in the Clermont-Ferrand Festival it won the Best Short Narrative Film award at the Alexandria Festival in addition to participating in more than fifteen international festivals including the Clermont-Ferrand International Short film festival and Carthage International film festival (JCC).

Through Khayal Company, Muhannad seeks to encourage artists and build a foundation for Libyan filmmakers.
