Biography:
Mohamed Fanan is a director, cinematographer, and editor based in Tripoli, Libya. He has 11 years of experience in the visual industry. He began his career at the age of 18, in graphics design. He graduated from Applied Arts College in Tripoli, contributing to his knowledge of colours and his passion for films. He also studied the MA in cinematography at MET Film School in Berlin.
After finishing his BA, he made his first short film, “Kidnapped”, which was screened at many film festivals in the EU and MENA. In addition, he made a variety of documentaries for NDI, Business Insider, and ARTE, focusing on the humanitarian side, the displaced, migration, and transitional justice. He also worked on many local TV channels as a cinematographer and director.
